Letter from the President of AOFNMB
Dear nuclear medicine professors and colleague,
The 16th Asia and Oceania Congress of Nuclear Medicine and Biology (AOCNMB) will be held in Bali, Indonesia from September 5-7, 2024. The theme of the conference is " Nuclear Medicine Theranostic in the Era of Presicion Medicine: from basic science to advanced application ", which aims to further strengthen the development of nuclear medicine in the Asia-Oceania region and to play a role in more fields and diversification. As the President of AOFNMB, I would like to warmly welcome nuclear medicine colleagues from all over Asia and nuclear medicine experts from all over the world to participate in the conference and present clinical experiences and results, and I wish that the 16th Asia and Oceania Congress of Nuclear Medicine and Biology will be held smoothly and successfully as scheduled!
Nuclear medicine in Indonesia has a long history since the late 1960s, and now it has been popularized in clinical applications and has formed quite distinctive nuclear medicine applications, and Indonesian therapeutic nuclear medicine has played an important role in the treatment of cancer patients. I hope that you will experience the unique customs, culture and climate of Indonesia, and at the same time, share the latest research results in nuclear medicine and collide with new sparks of thought.
The Asia and Oceania Federation of Nuclear Medicine and Biology is a long-standing nuclear medicine organization founded in Tokyo, Japan, in October 1969. With the successful conclusion of the 15th AOCNMB in Amman, Jordan, in October 2023, we have successfully held 15 times and made great contributions to the development of the field of nuclear medicine in the Asia and Oceania region. AOFNMB is the third regionally important nuclear medicine organization after SNMMI and EANM, and is highly recognized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). We hope to work hand in hand with all international nuclear medicine authorities to promote the development of nuclear medicine worldwide. I sincerely hope that AOFNMB can adapt to this special mode and environment under multi-party cooperation, grow continuously and develop into a more influential international exchange and cooperation platform and a very important national organization of nuclear medicine. Its hoped that we can build on our past successes and allow more cultures and more academic perspectives to collide and merge here, which will have positive implications for the unity and development of nuclear medicine in Asia and the world.
This conference is not only an academic exchange platform to discuss advanced technology and innovative ideas, but also a window for manufacturers to showcase their latest products and services. We hope that all nuclear medicine colleagues can actively participate, share their experiences and innovations with each other. We also sincerely hope that manufacturers can enthusiastically participate in the conference, so that the research of experts and the needs of manufacturers can be combined, making achievements for each other. We can jointly create more possibilities for sustainable and prosperous development of nuclear medicine in Asia and Oceania.
Letter from the President of ISNM-MT
First of all, on behalf of ISNM, it is our great honor to be on the Committee of AOFNMB again after a long time in 1992. Thank you all for your support and trust. We hope that more and more people and delegates will join us in this meeting. Indonesia will facilitate better communication and cooperation between members of AOFNMB. We will continue to promote the advances of nuclear medicine and relevant science in Indonesia.
This coming September, we are being invited to participate in the exhibition of AOFNMB. We will convey information about nuclear medicine to the outside world through news, posters and social media, web links online and offline, we can increase the influence and publicity. We think this is a significant change, which represents the arrival of a new era after COVID pandemic.
Despite the great changes in the environment and times, we still need more nuclear medicine experts to promote nuclear medicine services, which requires more systematic, sustainable, coordinated and standardized training to improve the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of human resources in nuclear medicine.We hope that AOFNMB can adapt to this special mode and environment under multi-party cooperation, grow continuously in adversity, and develop into a more influential international exchange and cooperation platform and a very important national organization of nuclear medicine.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to extend a warmest invitation for you to participate on the 16th Asia Oceania Congress of Nuclear Medicine and Biology (AOCNMB 2024) in conjunction with the Indonesian Congress of Nuclear Medicine, taking place in Bali, Indonesia from September 5th to 7th, 2024. This annually scientific meeting aims to provide participants with a comprehensive overview of the latest developments and updates from basic to clinical application of Nuclear Medicine, Molecular Imaging and Theranostics. It will draw a global audience from various sectors, including industry, academia, scientists, and other professionals involved in our field. I do hope this scientific meeting creating a great opportunity for networking and knowledge exchange. This scientific and intellectual interaction with the participation of prominent world-class faculty will not only enrich the participant’s experience and outlook, but also promises to deliver cutting-edge perspectives and insights that will shape the future of nuclear medicine in Asia Oceania regions.
This event is very important for healthcare industrial sectors to promote their products, since the government of Indonesia has significant program in health transformation particularly in oncology, cardiology, stroke and urology, where Nuclear Medicine has an important role. By 2027 all general hospital in every province will be equipped with full facilities of nuclear medicine and theranostic molecular for better quality of medical services, particularly in the management of cancer.
